This painting honors Picasso, the legendary tri-colored stallion of the Sand Wash Basin in Colorado. Surviving over three decades in a harsh, competitive environment, Picasso defied the odds that most wild stallions face. Known as America’s most famous wild horse, he has captivated a devoted legion of fans, with many photographers eager to capture his rugged beauty in the wild. I was drawn to Picasso's scarred body, raw strength, and indomitable spirit, and I hope this artwork does him justice. It was a privilege to bring his story to life on canvas. This piece was donated to the Murwillumbah Mustangs football club and hangs proudly in their 'Stable Bar' as a tribute to both thheir resilience and strenghth.
